TMJ stands for Temporomandibular Joint and involves dysfunction of the joints in the jaw. Pain is the most common symptom of TMJ, however, some people have no pain but still experience problems using their jaws. TMJ treatments should be reversible whenever possible. Reversible treatments include over the counter pain meds, prescription medications, gentle jaw stretching and relaxation exercises, and/or stabilization splits (i.e. bite plate, night guard). Please contact us today if you feel as if you are experiencing potential TMJ.
